Alarming dip in quality of Teachers posing serious threat to students' future

India has always been known as one of the finest hubs for basic education and the values that are inculcated during the growing ages have always stood as an example. It is purely due to the strong fundamentals that are taught here that today, many Indians are going to different parts of the world and proving their mettle. However, for good education to happen, there is a need for good teachers and right now, that seems to be the biggest threat which is facing the future of students.

Reports are coming from various educational institutions that there has been significant dip in the quality of teachers. They say that the new age generation is not showing interest in the noble profession and are more appealed by the corporate jobs and fat packages. And with factors such as reservations and lack of monitoring in B.Ed and M.Ed examinations, those who are left with no better option are going for teaching line. This in turn is affecting the classrooms and students.

Barring those top league educational institutions, on an average there are many schools, colleges and especially engineering colleges which are suffering with severe shortage of faculty and lack of good faculty. While this is one side, the academic experts cite few key factors for the dip in teachers. They say that the system of teaching the teachers is still out of today's times. Moreover, the motivation factor is less in the education circuit in terms of financial or position growth.

With lack of quality in teachers, the type of students who are passing out suffer from lack of proper knowledge and this is affecting their performance in the real world. With countries like China posing a severe threat to our future, it is about time the authorities come up with measures that project the essence of teaching and its field in the right manner and give it the required dignity.
